A travel bureau, Civitatis Tours, has been hacked and unfortunately all their citytrips have been wiped away. They have asked you to help them create a new city trip.
You will plan a city trip of 5 days in your assigned group. You can choose from three different cities in each of the five countries. You give us insight in what you would like to see from the culture, what kind of food you want to eat during your trip, what kind of weather they have there and a bit about the history of the city. You will write down everything you plan on doing during this trip in your project plan and you will present this eventually in the form of a flyer, presentation, collage or a video.
The assignment:
What would you like to see during your citytrip?
Choose at least:
Two musea that you would like to see.
Look into what the locals eat in your chosen city and where you would like to eat every evening.
Two tourist attraction that you would like to see. (For example: famous buildings, statues or a park a football stadium)
How you will travel in the city during the citytrip. (For example: by car, by underground or by bus)
And what the weather will be like during your visit.
You will present your final product during the travel market in Lesson 3, where you will explain why you have chosen these activities for your final product and will try to convince us why we should also go on this journey.
If there are any questions during the making of this project, first see if you can solve this within the group and if that does not work out you can ask the teacher for help!

Een reisbureau, Civitatis Tours, is gehackt en helaas zijn al hun citytrips zijn verdwenen. Ze hebben jullie gevraagd om hen te helpen bij het maken van een nieuwe citytrip.
Je plant in je toegewezen groepje een citytrip van 5 dagen. Jullie kunnen bij elk van de vijf landen kiezen uit drie verschillende steden. Je geeft ons inzicht in wat je zou willen zien van de cultuur, wat voor soort eten je tijdens je reis wilt eten, wat voor weer ze daar hebben en een beetje over de geschiedenis van de stad. Je schrijft alles op wat je van plan bent te doen tijdens deze reis in jullie project plan en jullie presenteren het in de vorm van een map, presentatie, collage of een video.

Je zal je eindproduct presenteren tijdens de travelmarkt in les 3, waarin je uitlegt waarom je deze activiteiten voor je eindproduct hebt gekozen en ons zult proberen te overtuigen waarom we ook op deze reis moeten gaan.
Als er vragen zijn tijdens het maken van dit project kijk je eerst of je dit binnen de groep kunt oplossen en als dat niet lukt kun je de leraar om hulp vragen!

Step 1
Begin met het kiezen van een van de volgende steden:

Glasgow in Scotland
Dublin in Ireland

Step 2
Lees het onderstaande artikel over jullie gekozen stad. Hierdoor krijgen jullie een beetje een idee van wat er allemaal gedaan kan worden in deze stad. Jullie kunnen deze informatie eventueel gebruiken om keuzes te maken over welke toeristenatracties jullie willen bezoeken tijdens de citytrip, welke musea jullie willen bezoeken, wat jullie willen eten, hoe jullie gaan rondreizen in de stad en wat het weer zal zijn.
Maak een woordweb met woorden die te maken hebben met de stad die jullie hebben gekozen. Zet de naam van de stad in het midden van het papier en probeer 2 woorden per persoon aan de woordweb toe te voegen.

Step 5
Maak een factfile op basis van de vocab en grammar uit het boek. In de factfile zet je in korte Engelse zinnetjes informatie over de gekozen stad. Bijvoorbeeld: On monday it will be 20 degrees with sunshine, it is very easy to travel around by taxi or the museum we want to visit closes at 8.
Geef tenminste 5 feitjes over de stad. Gebruik hierbij waar nodig de vocab van het tekstboek hoofdstuk 8 op Blz. 127 en 128 en de grammar van stone 21 en 22 op pagina 121 en 124 van het tekstboek.
Deze gemaakte zinnen kunnen jullie vervolgens ook gebruiken om jullie project uit te leggen op de Travelmarkt.
Step 6
Kies minimaal 1 activiteit dat in het artikel wordt beschreven voor jullie eigen citytrip. Jullie hoeven niet persé al de activiteiten uit de artikelen te halen, jullie mogen natuurlijk ook zelf ideeën inbrengen en dit wordt ook hoger becijferd.
Haal bruikbare informatie uit het filmpje voor de eindopdracht. Je kunt uit het filmpje verschillende bezienswaardigheden halen die jullie bijvoorbeeld willen zien tijdens jullie trip.

Schrijf het project plan waarin jullie vertellen welke keuzes jullie hebben gemaakt en waarom en ga daarna bezig met het maken van de opdracht:

Step 8
Nu presenteren jullie het eindproduct op de Travelmarkt. Jullie kunnen tijdens de markt de groepjes in tweeën delen zodat je over de markt kan lopen en ook de andere producten kan zien. Halverwege de les zullen de groepjes omgedraaid worden zodat iedereen de kans heeft gehad om rond te kijken en het eigen project uit te leggen.
Wees je ervan bewust dat je tijdens de markt vragen moet kunnen beantwoorden over jullie product dus zorg ervoor dat je de beslissingen die gemaakt zijn kunt uitleggen.
Tijdens de markt zal alles in het Engels besproken worden.

Read the article below of the city you chose. This will give you a bit of an idea on what kind of activities you can do in the chosen city. You can use this information to make choices about which tourists attractions you want to visit during the city trip, which museums you want to see, what you want to eat, how you are going to travel around the city and what the weather will be like when you are in the city.
Create a word web with words that relate to the city you have chosen. Put the name of the city in the middle of the paper and try to add 4 words per person to the word web.

You can use this factfile to explain your final project during the Travel market.
Use the vocab of the textbook chapter 8 on pages 127 and 128 and the grammar from stone 21 on page 121 and 124 of the textbook wherever necessary.

Choose at least 1 activity that is described in the article for your own city trip. You do not necessarily have to choose the other remaining activity from the article as well, you can of course also contribute ideas yourself and this will also give you a higher grade!
Get useful information from the video for the final assignment. You can take various sightseeings from the video that you want to see during your trip.

Write the project plan in which you tell us what choices you have made and why and after that start with making the final product:

Now you will present the final product on the Travel Market. You can split the groups in two during the market so that you can walk across the market and see the other products as well. Halfway through the lesson, the groups will be switched around, so that everyone has the chance to look around and explain their own project.
Be aware that you have to be able to answer questions about your product during the Travel Market so make sure you can explain the decisions that have been made.
Everything will be discussed in English during the market.
