In short you are going to the UK with your class! The programme is planned by your teachers, but you might have thought of a different journey. This is your chance!

1. Inleiding

Together with a classmate, you are going to plan a journey for your class to an English speaking country .

You will need some English for that, so watch this clip before you start! ;)

2. Taak

In about a few weeks, you and your class are going on an excursion to a foreign country. This excursion is planned by your teachers. It probably will be a great trip, but you might have planned some things differently. This is your chance!

You are going to plan a three day journey to an English speaking country. This journey is ment for you and your classmates!

You work together with one classmate. After you have done all steps you will have made a brochure to give to you classmates!

Remember: this is a fantasy trip, so you can make this journey as grand as you like! ?

3. Werkwijze

By following these steps, you will end up with a wonderful brochure of the trip you would want to make!

Step 1

Choose one of the following countries for your trip.

 

- England

- Ireland

- Scotland

- USA

- Canada

- Australia

 

Step 2

Go to Google maps (bronnen) and look up the country of your choice. Pick one of the main cities as the travel goal.

 

Step 3

You and your class need a place to sleep. Search for a hotel in the city (use Google).

 

  • Write down a description of the hotel, the rooms and the surroundings. (150-200 words)
  • Select and download minimally two pictures of the hotel

 

Step 4

Next to sleeping, eating and shopping there needs to be activities for you and your classmates. Search for four activities in the city (bronnen):

 

- one cultural activity

- one historical activity

- one sportive activity

- one beautiful spot to have some rest and relax

 

  • Write down a description of each activity. It should contain these items:

- where

- what

- why

  • Select and add minimally one picture per activity.

 

Step 5

Search for a map of the city and circle the spots where the activities take place.

 

Step 6

Make a day-to-day programme of the trip. Start each day with getting up/leaving and end each day with going to bed.

- each of the activities in step 5 should be present.

- you plan each day in hours

- Make sure there is enough time for each activity!

 

Step 7

Make a complete brochure using the items you already made.

The brochure should contain:

  • A front page with a title and picture
  • An introduction (100-150 words)
  • The programme
  • The discription of the hotel
  • The descriptions of the activities
  • The map with the important spots circled
  • Anything that you would like to add
