Welcome to the crash-course on safety on the internet. Before we begin we must teach you the necessary vocabulary you will need for this journey. In this first lesson out of 4 which will make you experts on internet safety, we will focus on vocabulary!
In preparation for the first class, you must complete the sections: "homework: part 1" and "homework: part 2". You will find these on the left.
The goal for this class is as follows:
At the end of this lesson you will have learned at least 5 new words regarding on the theme of internet safety.
Homework: Part 1
First off you will answer a quiz with 12 questions about your own media usage.
Then, you will be told what your personality is regarding media usage.
Note: the quiz is in dutch, but your answer to the assignment will be in English.
The assignment:
Grab a pen and a notebook and summarize your personality in English.
Note: this is important for the next homework assignment (which you must physically take with you to class, as we will be discussing the results).
Homework: Part 2
You are going to read an article on dangers of the internet.
The assignment:
Write down 2 dangers in the article which stood out to you and why.
Note down any words you don't know in Mentimeter.
Note: if you need help getting into Miro, click on the "help with Miro" button on the left.
Homework: Part 3
Finally, using the article and the result of the quiz you made earlier, which danger in the article could you possibly fall victim to if you're not careful?
Write down why in your notebook and bring this to class as you will need it during a groupdiscussion.
In class: Station 2
Welcome to station 2!
At station 2 you will be reading up on privacy.
Read the tips written down in this article.
The assignment:
Post the tips you think are useful on Miro. If your tip has been posted already, please look for another one instead.
Where to write your tips
In class: Station 3
At station 3 you will be practicing the vocabulary you read in the article as homework.
Tip: there are several ways to practice (which you can select in the bottom-right), experiment with at least 2!
Help with Miro
Step 1: Signing up
Als eerste zie je dit scherm:
Klik hier op 'sign up with google' en vink de twee opties aan, klik daarna op 'continue to sign up'.
Ga nu naar stap 2.
Step 2: Using Sint-Maartens account
In het veld "E-mailadres of telefoonnummer" vul je de gegevens van je sint-maartens account in en log je in zoals je dat altijd zou doen.
Ga nu naar stap 3.
Step 3: Setting up your Miro Account
Nu krijg je twee velden te zien. Klik op het drop-down menu en vul "Teacher / Student" in bij de eerste.
Bij het tweede veld vul je in wat van toepassing is. Waarschijnlijk is dit "No, it's my first time."
Step 4: All done!
En dat was het! Nu kan je aan de slag met Miro, wat we ook op een later tijdstip weer gaan doen!
