Spain
Spain Barcelona: Some may find the Catalan capital too touristy, but Barcelona still has its charm. It is a vibrant city with beautiful city beaches, a great nightlife and tasty tapas. Combine this with a number of beautiful buildings by architect Antoni Gaudi such as the unfinished basilica of the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Casa Mila (La Pedrera) and Casa Batllo. But modernist buildings such as the Palau de la Musica Catalana and the Hospital de Sant Pau are just as impressive. Other sights in Barcelona are the Ramblas with the adjacent Mercat de la Boqueria and the Columbus monument at the harbor. Be sure to walk through the Parc de la Ciutadella and for a magnificent view you can visit the castle on top of Montjuïc with a cable car. Other highlights are Tibidabo, the Gothic Quarter and the lively Gracia district. Football fan? Then go to Camp Nou, the FC Barcelona stadium.
Seville: When you visit this city in Andalusia you cannot miss the Moorish history of Seville. The highlight is by far the Real Alcazar de Sevilla, or the royal palace. In addition, the enormous cathedral with the adjacent Giralda tower should not be missed. Visit the Metropol Parasol, a wonderful place for a glass of wine, the beautiful Plaza de España at the Parc de Maria Luisa and take a boat trip on the river. La Macarena with the Basilica de la Macarena is an authentic neighborhood. In the evening you can eat delicious tapas in the Santa Cruz district, the historic center of Seville.
Granada: Whoever says Granada immediately calls out the name of the world famous Alhambra palace. This Moorish palace is so popular that it often sells out weeks in advance, especially when you want to get tickets including the beautiful Nasrid Palace. But the adjacent gardens with the Generalife summer palace are also worth a visit. In the city of Granada itself, you should definitely visit El Albayzin, the Arab quarter with narrow alleys, nice squares and, among other things, the Arab bathhouse. Then walk up the hill to Sacromonte, the cave district where you will meet the gypsies who live for Flamenco music. Other sights in Granada are the cathedral with the Capilla Real, the royal funerary chapels and the Alcaiceria bazaar / market. If you are in the area for longer than visit the nature reserve of the Sierra Nevada.
Girona is located in Catalonia (Northern Spain) and has a direct train connection to Barcelona. You can be here in an hour by train. Girona is a city and municipality in the Spanish autonomous region of Catalonia. It is the capital of the province of Gerona and of the comarca Gironès. The historic city of Girona is a great option for a day trip from Barcelona. The medieval city of Tarragona is without a doubt one of the highlights of the Costa Daurada. Tarragona is a city and municipality in the Spanish autonomous region of Catalonia. It is the capital of the Province of Tarragona and the Comarca Tarragonès. Visit this ancient Roman city by the sea, famous for its Santa Maria Cathedral, aqueduct and amphitheater and Roman remains. Florence
My personal favorite city in Italy. The capital of Tuscany, Florence Italy (Italian: Firenze) is a very versatile city because of its history with the Medici family. The city experienced an enormous boom in the Renaissance, resulting in many beautiful palaces and museums from that time. First of all, of course, the Duomo, or Florence's cathedral with its magnificent dome and the adjacent baptistery. Be sure to visit the Uffizi museum with numerous famous paintings and sculptures. Complete the city trip by visiting the beautiful palaces Palazz Pitti (with the adjacent Boboli Gardens) and the Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza delle Signoria in the city center of Florence. Other tips for sightseeing are the Medici chapels, the Galileo Galilei museum and the phenomenal view over Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo. You can easily enjoy yourself for a few days in Florence! The Uffizi Gallery (Galleria degli Uffizi in Italian) is a Florentine palace that includes the Uffizi Museum, one of the most famous artistic heritages in the world. The 8,000 m2 Uffizi Museum has been open to the public since 1765 and features the world's finest collection of Italian paintings and works by all the great European masters, from Albrecht Dürer to Francisco de Goya. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is the 13th century cathedral / dome of the Archdiocese of Florence in Florence, Tuscany. Located in Piazza del Duomo in the historic center of Florence, it is adjacent to Giotto's bell tower and overlooks the heavenly gate of the Baptistery of St. John and the Loggia del Bigallo. The Galleria dell'Accademia is a museum in Florence, housed by the Florence Drawing Academy, founded in 1562, transferred to the buildings in 1784, located 58-60 rue Ricasoli, between the Duomo and Piazza San Marco, during the founding of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Since 1873, it has housed some of Michelangelo's great works, including his David, who has become the museum's emblem.
Florence
