Present continuous

Present continuous

Use the present continuous to indicate that someone is doing something right now or something is happening at this moment. To create a Present continuous use a present tense of to do plus the infinitive plus -ing: am/is/are + verb + -ing.

Examples

  • I am cooking dinner.
  • You are cooking dinner.
  • He/she is cooking dinner.    - Tom is cooking dinner
  • We are cooking dinner.       
  • You are cooking dinner.   
  • They are cooking dinner.     - Tom and Ien are cooking dinner.

You can also use the present continuous in question sentences and negative sentences:
