Simple present - 1

The simple present of a verb is the infinitive without the word 'to'.
This always applies unless the subject of the sentence is 'he', 'she' or 'it'.
Then the verb is followed by a '-s'.

I live

You live

He/she lives

We live

You live

They live

If the subject of the sentence is 'he', 'she' or 'it', the verb is followed by an '-s'.
There are some exceptions, however.
If the infinitive ends in '–o', then '–es' is added to the verb.

I go - he goes

If the infinitive already ends in '–s' or '-ch', then '–es' is followed.

I watch - he watches

If the infinitive ends in '–y', the '-y' is replaced by '–ies'.

I fly - he flies

If the verb ends with '–y' with 'a', 'e', 'o', or 'u' before it, then there is just a '–s' after the verb.

I play - he plays

In a negative or in an interrrogative sentence use the infinitive + the correct form of 'to do'.
