De Stercollecties Engels van Stichting VO-content geven je als docent alle ruimte om de lessen naar wens vorm te geven. Het digitaal leermateriaal is naar eigen inzicht in te zetten, te combineren en aan te vullen. De Stercollecties zijn daardoor goed te gebruiken als aanvulling op bestaand leermateriaal. Of vormen een goede basis om een methode te vervangen.
Aan welke kenmerken voldoet de Stercollectie?
- Actuele digitale leerlijnen voor een vak, niveau en jaar voor iedereen beschikbaar.
- Kerndoel- en eindtermdekkend, voor aanvullend of (deels) vervangend gebruik.
- Leerdoeldenken en formatief evalueren zijn geïntegreerd in alle leerlijnen.
- Flexibel inzetbare en leerlinggerichte opdrachten, bruikbaar voor blended learning.
- Sluit aan op de door de SLO ontwikkelde leerdoelenkaarten voor het vak Engels.
- Stelselmatig onderhoud en actualisatie op basis van reflecties van gebruikers en experts.
- Te gebruiken op elke computer, laptop of tablet.

Deelnemer worden aan Stichting VO-content?
Wanneer jouw school (vanaf dit schooljaar) deelneemt aan VO-content* krijgen jij en collega’s exclusief toegang tot een basispakket met het docentenmateriaal én allerlei programma’s die onderwijs op maat mogelijk maken. Daarnaast kun je er ook voor kiezen om het basispakket aan te vullen met drie extra keuzeprogramma’s. Door deel te nemen draagt je school bovendien bij aan de doorontwikkeling van open leermateriaal (Stercollecties). Een mooie maatschappelijke doelstelling!

In this theme you are going to listen, read, speak and write about family and friends.
You will be speaking about your own family, royal families, other famous families and your relationship with other people.

4 Contacts
At the end of this theme you:
- will have listened to different people talking about different ways of contacting people;
- will have read some texts about different ways of contacting people and how they are experienced by people;
- will have learnt how to write an email;
- will have learnt how to have a telephone call;
- will have learnt about the differences between British and American English and the different variants of English in the United Kingdom.

In this theme you are going to do the following things:
- Will have listened to people talking about shopping for different items;
- Will have read texts about people talking about shopping, online shopping, money in the UK and shopping on a budget;
- Will have written about shopping, shops and products you can buy in shops;
- Will have practised conversations in shops and about shopping.

- Will have listened to people talking about school routines, school subjects and school objects;
- Will have read texts about someone's timetable, school subjects, school supplies, someone's experience going to secondary school and someone's experience learning a language;
- Will have written about your school and your timetable and your favourite subject;
- Will have talked about your school, your experiences at school and your timetable;
- Will have practised school-related vocabulary;
- Will have learned and practised question words and the past simple for regular verbs;
- Will have learned more about the British and American school systems.

In this theme you are going to do the following things:
In dit thema ga je de volgende dingen doen:
- Listen to people talking about their hobbies.
- Read texts about sports, for example rugby.
- Write an essay about leisure time.
- Have a discussion about music.

8 Food and drink
You will find different things to watch, to listen to, to read and of course to do.
There are videos, recordings, pictures, photos, texts and assignments.
There are different types of assignments. Some of them you have to do on your own, others you are doing in a group.
At the end of those group assignments you are going to discuss the answers in your group. Some assignment will be checked by the computer.

- you will have read and listen to texts and spoken about love and have answered the questions;

This theme is about 'Dreams'.
At the end of this theme you will have listened, read, writeen and spoken about dreams. You also will have learnt vocabulary about dreams and grammar about conditionals.
