Become a pro at listening

Introduction

Listening is very important for you to understand another person and it is all around you; on the tv, radio, games and movies. Maybe one day you find yourself going on a holiday to an English speaking country or have an online gaming session with one of your English friends. Then it is important for you to understand what that other person is saying. During this lesson you are going to practice your listening skills.

You need to work your way from the top to the bottom: introduction --> warm-up --> British council exercises --> etc.

For each paragraph read carefully what it says!

The goal of this lesson is to improve you listening skills and to give you some insight on how good you are at doing listening exercises.

The Warm-up

Before you start listening it's important to warm-up! Here are some (easy) exercises to get you started and to prepare yourself for the more difficult exercise.

Warming-Up - STOP LISTENING AFTER 15 MIN.

British Council Exercises

During these exercises you will find out if you need some extra practice or if you can move on to the more difficult exercises. Do all three listening exercises. If you scored a sufficient on all three listening exercises, move on to the paragraph called 'more difficult exercises'.

If you didn't score a sufficient, or if you think you need more practice, move on to the paragraph called 'extra practice'.

There is also a link to a Youtube video which gives you some tips to improve your listening!
