How to choose your news
You are going to watch a video that explains how news works and how you should choose where you get your news.
Work together with two or three classmates and do exercise 1.
Watch the video and do exercise 2 by yourself.
Do exercise 3 in your group.
Exercise 1
Discuss the following questions in your group in English:
Do you follow the news? Why (not)?
Where do you get your news? And why do you get it there?
Do your parents follow the news?
Where do your parents get their news?
In what way do your parents differ from you when it comes to following the news? Why do you think this is the case?

Writing headlines is difficult! Journalists try to give as much information as possible in just one line. Moreover, the line must be interesting and capture (=trekken) people's attention.
This exercise shows that headline writing is not easy and that, sometimes, journalists make funny mistakes.
