Welcome to this Wikiwijs!
In this Wikiwijs you will do multiple assignments that have to do with chapter 8 ‘Going places’. The main focus will be on reading and writing. The goal of this test is for you to apply what you have learned during the lessons in different situations. Write all your answers on your answer sheet.
Bonus assignment: there is a bonus assignment. This will allow you to show the skills you have. Bear in mind: it is not mandatory, it is only a bonus. If you don't have the time to do the bonus assignment, you can still score a good grade. If you have the time, we advise you to do it.
Your performance will be marked based on the rubric we gave you last week. You will receive multiple marks according to the rubric. These marks will be averaged to one single grade. You must score an average grade of 5.5/10 or higher in order to pass.

Assignment 1
My town
My Town – Newquay

I live in Newquay. It’s a small town on the Atlantic coast in the south of England. It has got great beaches and is the best place to surf in the UK. There are lots of surf schools where you can learn how to surf. I go surfing with my friends every weekend. My favourite place is Fistral Beach.
I love Newquay because there are lots of other things to do as well as surfing. If you like water sports, you can go kayaking, water-skiing or coasteering. Coasteering is different because it is rock climbing, jumping into the sea and swimming in the same activity, but you should always go with a special instructor.
If you like animals you can also visit the Blue Reef Aquarium and see lots of different fish and even sharks. You can also go horse riding on the beach or visit Newquay Zoo. There are lots of other attractions too like mini golf and bowling. Come and see for yourself!

Assignment 3
Volgende week ga je met je klasgenootjes op excursie naar Liverpool. Jullie logeren in een hotel midden in de stad. Jij en je klasgenootjes willen graag weten wat er allemaal te doen is in London. De vriendelijke eigenaar van het hotel heeft gezegd dat wanneer er vragen zijn, jullie een briefje mogen schrijven met daarop jullie vragen, zodat hij jullie kan informeren.
Opdracht: Write a letter to the owner of the hotel, including the following:
- Vraag waar jullie heen kunnen om musea te bezoeken
- Vraag waar de beste plek is om een broodje te eten in de stad
- Vraag tot hoe laat de winkels open zijn
- Groet en bedank de meneer van de receptie

Assignment 4
Je oom en tante uit Liverpool hebben gehoord dat je op excursie gaat. Ze zijn benieuwd wat je allemaal gaat doen en gaat bekijken. Uncle paul spreekt geen Nederlands dus je schrijft de brief in het Engels. Gebruik de future tenses die we in de les hebben geoefend.
Opdracht: Write a letter to uncle Paul and aunt Anna (at least 30 words)

Bonus assignment
The bonus assignment is an addition to assignment 4.
Je oom en tante zouden het leuk vinden als je een dagje langs komt. Je hebt dit overlegd met school en het mag. Schrijf aan je oom en tante dat je graag bij ze langs komt en wat je samen met hen wil doen.
Assignment: write another 20-30 words to your uncle and aunt.
