2V Unit 2 Solutions

Introduction

You are going to work on Unit 2 in Solutions called Winning and Losing.

The grammar will be about the past simple and the past continuous.

You will find the workplanner here.

2B past simple

In this paragraph you are going to learn about the Past Simple. Past means 'verleden'. Last year you dealt with the present simple, so now you are going to work with the past. There are regular verbs in English and irregular verbs. You will have to learn the irregular verbs by heart. For an extra explanation you can watch this video.

You will find a list with irregular verbs here.  The 1st row is the base form, the 2nd row is the past (this one you will need) and the 3rd one is the past participle(voltooid deelwoord), which you will need later in the book.

Here you will find an extra exercise about the past simple, so that you can check yourself.

Unit 2 D past simple - past continuous

Here you will find some extra explanation on past simple and past continuous.

You may do the exercises belonging to the explanation from Meester Gijs. See for yourself which you would like to do.

You are going to write a piece using the past simple and the past continuous. You may know for yourself what you are going to write about. Hand it in on Classroom.

Unit 2E Surf's up

Here you can watch a video about what happened to Bethany.

Suppose you are a news reporter and you want to make a newsitem about Bethany.

With a partner, make a news item about her in which one of you is the reporter. Include assignment 8 in which the one plays the role of Bethany.

Post your newsitem on Classroom. Make it look as real as possible.
