A lot of students don't know the answer. Besides, lots of students do not like reading at all... But reading actually IS very important to improve your English. Not just your reading skills: writing, speaking and even your listening skills improve when you read.

So, reading is very important to improve your English. But for a lot of students it is hard to read. Especiallly if you have to answer questions about a text.
In this lessonseries you will find a lot of tips and skills to help you with that, along with practice material. Get going and good luck!
Practice
Reading is just like doing sports: you have to practice to get better at it! For practice we use an online programme: ReadTheory. Today, you will just practice, next lesson, you will learn reading strategies to improve your reading skills, besides training.
Go to ReadTheory Your teacher has created an account for you and will provide you with a password. Log in to the webpage (top-right of the page!)
First, you will do a PRETEST to see at what level you are. Do the best you can, some questions might be too easy, some may be too hard. Don't worry about it: It's fine as long as you do the test ALL BY YOURSELF....

To help you read there are a lot of strategies: tips and tricks that make reading so much easier. Find out more and practice...
Dictionary
a dictionary is a great help for reading. The good news is that you usually are allowed to use one for tests and your exam! But.... you do have to know how to use it.
In this lesson you will learn how to work a dictionay and practice. Use the dictionary for readtheory as well: the more you practice, the easier it will get!
