Commemorative Event for the Nobel Peace Prize Awarded to Nihon Hidankyo,
Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations
“Paper Crane Event”
This year, the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations (Nihon Hidankyo) has been selected for the Nobel Peace Prize. To celebrate this achievement and to reflect on peace, we will hold a "Paper Crane Event" where participants will fold cranes to create a thousand cranes. While creating this artwork, students can contemplate on the symbol of hope and peace. We invite you to join us for this meaningful event. This event is being held in collaboration with the Nara Municipal Fushimi Elementary School, and the Omuta Local UNESCO Association Youth Team "With."
While reflecting on peace to ensure that nuclear weapons are never used again, participants will fold origami cranes and take a photo or record a 30-second video with a message, which will be uploaded to each school's homepage.
(Reference) When International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons、ICAN received the award in 2017, 10 countries and 30 schools participated.
Purpose
As mentioned in the reason for the award, the goal is to spread awareness of peace to the world and to the future generations.
How to Publish
After uploading the photos or videos to each school's homepage, please send the direct URL link. The links will be organized and published by region and country on the Maiko High School website.

②Submissions received by December 24 will be organized and published by December 27, 2024.
③Submissions received by January 15 will be organized and published by January 20, 2025.
④Unfortunately, submissions received after January 16, 2025, cannot be processed.
