Genetive ('s or s')
The genitive indicates possession.
When do you use the genitive?
- With people.
- This is Pete's bike. (de fiets van Pete)
- With words related to time and distance.
- Today's newspaper.
- A one mile's walk.
- At a place where someone lives or works.
- At the butcher's.
- He is going to stay at his uncle's.
Note: a word in the plural already ends with an s then you only have to add an apostrophe to it..
