In the simple present, we normally use do or does to make a question.
It is normally put at the beginning of the question, before the subject.
Important to notice: after the use of a form of to do you always use the infinitive.
A question can also start with a form of the verb to be.
The form of 'to be' is then used first in the sentence.
An interrogative sentence can also start with one of the other auxiliary verbs.
The question then starts with the auxiliary verb.
