2HV - Present perfect

Op deze pagina:

The present perfect is used to say that something happened in the past and continues in the present. It is important at the time of speaking. There is still a connection with the here and now.

The present perfect is formed by have / has and the past participle (voltooid deelwoord; 3e rijtje onregelmatige werkwoorden). The past participle can have two different forms: regular (verb + ed) and an irregular form. Have a look at the Reference for more information on irregular verbs.

We have washed the car. It is clean now.
I feel sick because I have eaten too much.
He has lost his keys. He can't get into the house.

We also use the present perfect to talk about events and experiences up to the present.

I have had a headache for two weeks now.
We have lived in this house since January.
He has already been in London twice before.

TIP! The signal words that are often used with the present perfect can be memorised by the words juf (just, until, for) en (ever, never) sysar (since, yet, so far, already, recently).
