Now you are going to have a conversation about health with someone else.
You and your partner are going to act out a conversation at the doctor.
One of you is the doctor (person A), and the other the patient (person B).

Expressions: If you need some extra help, go to your StudioWozzol account and take another look at the chunks.
Now you are going to have a conversation.

  1. Find someone to work with and use the schedule at the end of the page.
  2. Write down a couple of words to help you during the conversation.
  3. Practise your conversation at least twice.

After practising twice, do the following things:

  1. Find another pair to work with.
  2. Act out your conversation.
  3. Let them write down feedback for you.
  4. Let them do the conversation and write down feedback for them.
  5. Discuss what things were good and what you can do better next time.

Greet the patient and ask the patient to take a seat.

Ask what is wrong.

Make up something that is bothering you (headache, nausea, dizziness).

Ask how long the patient has had these symptoms and whether the patient knows where it comes from.

Answer the question.

Say you think it is (make up a disease). Tell him/her that you are prescribing medication that should quickly resolve the symptoms.

Ask what kind of medicine it is and how often and at what times of the day you should take it.

Answer the question. Also state that if he/she is not better in 48 hours, he/she should come and see you again.

Say you understand, thank the doctor and end the conversation.

Say 'you're welcome' and end the conversation.

Discuss what went well and what you can do better next time.
