Alternatives for fossil fuels

Because most fossil fuels are made from dead animals and plants, burning them means a lot of carbondioxide being released in the atmosphere. The carbondioxide in turn contributes to the greenhouse effect (broeikaseffect).

Some examples of alternatives for fossile fuels being used is solar energy from the sun, wind energy, wave energy from the water or radioactive energy. These are so-called renewable fuels (actually, radioactive energy is not renewable, why is that?).

The exercise:

Use the internet to come up with at least two advantages and two disadvantages for each of the four forms of alternative fuel.

Then choose one of the four alternatives and explain why is would be best to use this fuel instead of fossil fuels and the other three alternative fuels.

Write a paper of at least 250 and at most 300 words on this topic. Make sure to hand it in on the 30th of March via the inleverperiode on Som!
