Woodlice

There are about 2.500 species of woodlice in the world.

An wood-louse has a outer shell. This is his skeleton. It's skeleton is on the outside! We call it an exoskeleton. When a Wood-louse grows too big for its exoskeleton, the wood-louse has to get rid of its exoskeleton to allow a new shell to take place.

They have a pair of antennae to help them find their way around. Wood-lice do have eyes but they don't see well.

A wood louse can live for three/four years.

It's main predators are centipedes, toads, mice and spiders.
