My home

My name is Laura and I live in a city called Norwich in England. I live in a detached house with my Mum, my Dad, my little brother Eric and our dogs Lady and Moos. We have a big back garden with a swing set and a tree house. The dogs love to play back there.

Our front door is blue. Mum painted it last summer.
The first thing you see when you enter our home is a hallway with a staircase and a piano. My dad can play the piano very well, but he doesn’t do it a lot. Our living room is L-shaped and has a big, soft couch in it. There is also a fireplace. The dog beds are in front of it because they like to sleep there. One wall of our living room is covered by a huge bookcase, and another is decorated with photographs of our family.

The dining room is next to our living room. The walls are dark blue and there is a big wooden table that seats eight people. My mum likes antique furniture, so there are also two old wooden closets in there.

Our kitchen is a bit chaotic. Dad loves to cooks, so the countertops are filled with all kinds of appliances, like a stand mixer, a toaster, a blender, etc. There’s also a big cooker and a fridge that is always filled to the brim with food.

Our bedrooms are upstairs, as well as the bathroom and my dad’s study. Eric has the smallest bedroom and my parents have the biggest. My bedroom has light pink walls, but I’m thinking about painting them green. I have a twin-size bed, a desk where I can do my homework and a closet for my clothes. My hobby is painting, so I also have an easel in my room.

The bathroom needs to be renovated. Some of the tiles on the floor are broken and the drawers in the bathroom cabinets don’t work properly anymore. My dad says he’ll probably start the renovations next summer.

My least favourite room in our house is the attic. It’s cluttered with stuff and a bit creepy to be honest. Luckily, I don’t have to go up there often.
