Telephones
You are going to read a text about telephones.

Telephones are a major part of our lives these days. When I was little,
I used the phone perhaps once a week. When it rang, it was almost a big event. Everyone would rush into the living room to find out who was calling. Of course, it was an old-fashioned phone. It was the size of a football and you had to leave it on the table, because it was plugged into the wall.

These days, everything is different. Everyone has a phone. Some people I know even have several, one for private calls and one for work, for example. And every six months, when the latest models come out, they replace them. What they do with the 'old' ones, I don't know.

Today’s phones aren’t really phones. They are more like personal entertainment devices with lots of features, one of which is making calls. Personally, I don't have a smartphone anymore. I have an old model that I can use to text and to make calls, and that's it. It's a lot less stressful than a smartphone! Though I would like a phone with navigation. I'm not very good at finding my way around...
