When do we use the Past Simple?
We use the Past Simple when we want to talk about things that happened in the past.
Here are two examples:

2 kinds of verbs + their form
To be able to use the tense correct you need to know there are two kinds of verbs in the English language: regular and irregular verbs.
Regular verb?
- Add +ed after the verb -> seem/seemed
- Add +d if the verb ends with -e -> love/loved
- If verb ends on a consonant + -y then change -y in -i and add -ed -> hurry/hurried
Irregular verb?
- There are no rules to make irregular verbs past tense. Study the past tense forms on page 158, in your students book.

- Say/said
- make/made
- go/went
- take/took
- come/came
- see/saw
- know/knew
- get/got
- give/gave
- find/found
