Irregular verbs

In order to make a correct sentence in the past simple tense it is important to know all the irregular verbs. As told earlier during the video, the irregular verbs change from its form when you put it in a different tense. There are about 200 irregular verbs in the English language. It is important that you learn all of them by heart. Do not panic yet, as long as you keep reading English books and texts, you will get to know them more and more.

Example:

to be - was/were - been

To be is the infinitive, was/were is the past tense (the one you need for the past simple) and been is the past participle of the verb.

other examples:

to leave - left - left

to drive - drove - driven

to sit - sat - sat

to lose - lost - lost
