Assignment International Organizations - English version

Assignment International Organizations - English version

Introduction

This assignment makes you more familiar with some international organizations and treaties.

In groups of two you are going to study an organization or treaty. Results will be presented in a short video presentation.

Goals

1. You can write a short and clear text on a complex international organization or treaty. The target group can easily understand this text.

2. You can incorporate this text in a video presentation with functional image and sound.

Assignment

Presentations are made in Windows Photo Story or Windows Movie Maker (free download) with photos, text and music. The target group is young people aged 12 to 14. Their language is English.

Please follow these instructions:

1. Study the chosen organization by using the research questions specified below. Use the organization’s website as a main source.

2. Collect photos and illustrations from the internet that can support your story. Music can also support the story, but should not distract or make the audience drowsy.

3. Write a script and indicate where photos, illustrations and music go along with the spoken text. The entire film may last up to 6 minutes. Give concise information and use simple language that is understandable to the target group.

4. Install your story in Photo Story or Movie Maker. Use a headset with a microphone.  To practice the technique, you can create a fun version first with some holiday pictures.

5. When you're done, do not forget to save your story as a WMV file using the export function or publish function.
