Getting to know each other...

we'll start with a game to learn more from each other.

 

The question this week will be:

-How well do you know the other?-

you will be working on the project with different assignments

You will get 15 cards with subjects. Talk to each other about the subjects on the card. If one subject fits the other, you put his or her name on the card. You can use each card only one time. Try to fill in as much cards as possible. You are not allowed to talk to a student of your school. 

You have 10 minutes for this task.

Afterwards we will ask which name you have put on the card and why it is on the card

THE BIG assignment

In groups you will research the differences between the northern and southern Europe on a specific subject.

To keep things simple; the northern part includes: The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany and the southern part includes: Italy, France and Croatia.

You will make presentation, not using powerpoint, in which you present the outcome of your research and the presentation will also contain a short movie in which you exagerate the differences. The Songfestivalfilm of Sweden will give you an idea.

At the end of the week in Torino you will show the presentation the and the movie.

Strategy

This step can help you effectively do your library research.

  1. Formulate a search question or statement based on the subject. Show it to one of the teachers.
  2. Identify the main ideas in the question or statement. Make a mindmap. What do you allready know?
  3. Brainstorm alternative terms or synonyms for your main ideas.
  4. Formulate multiple questions you can answer before coming to the main question. Show them to one of the teachers.

  6. Search for data, ask people in school or at home.
  7. Answer your questions.
  8. Think of which part you like to show in an movie

How to make an interesting short movie

It's time to make your own short movie.

Take a look at the example and get your own brilliant idea!

Your movie has a maximum time of three minutes

Take the following steps for succes:

1. Who is your target and what is your message? Use humor! Exagerate!

2. What's the best place to shoot your movie? What do you need for the set? Think of clothing, props (decor), ...

3. Make a storyboard. You have to draw the pictures you will shoot. You have to write the script and the sentences.

4. Devide the roles: cameraman, director, actor, and so on

1. Devide the tasks, who will finish the movie, who will make the presentation.

2. You can use Prezi, Emaze, PowToons or another kind of presentation. Avoid Powerpoint.

3. In your presentation you will present the research questions and you will give the answers you have found.

Second assignment

 

In Torino you have discovered differences and simularities between the northern and the southern Europe. In Zwolle you will use this knowledge to present you own political party.

It is the year 2025 and all over Europe they finally agree to become one Europe instead of all the different countries we have now. Europe2025 will be a democracy and the people of Europe2025 are preparing themselves for the first real voting. You will be one of the parties.

Europe2025 has to be a country that is united, having the same ideas. Your party has think about subjects like:

-Education;

-Social behaviour;

-Human rights;

-European politics.

 

Use the subjects from the first part of the exchange.

Assignment: A commercial in which you "sell" your party and we will have a debate about the different topics.

 

Start with a 20 minutes of brainstorming. Five minutes for each subject. Afther that we will share answers.  

 

Your party has to think of the statement, where are you standing for, you have to think of a name and a quote. Think about an election program and start writing on it. What do you want to achieve in the next 10 years?
