Planning a holiday trip

In this wikiwijs you will find all the information for the next two lessons.

We are going to do a small project about planning a holiday trip.

Goals

These are the goals of the next two lessons:

- After these two lessons you know how to plan a holiday trip.

- After these two lessons you know how to talk about future plans.

Lesson 1

Step 1

- Make groups of 3-5 students

- Divide the roles:

  • Leader – divides the tasks

  • Secretary – puts all the info together in one document

  • Financial advisor – makes sure the trip finances stay within the budget

 

Use the format as a guideline while planning the trip! At the end of this lesson you need to hand this document in on teams.

When you're done, move on to step 2!

Step 2

 

- Pick a budget, but be realistic! Think of what you would really want to spend on a trip. (The maximum is €800 p.p)

- Pick a destination, it can be anywhere you want!

- Pick a time period for your trip. Keep in mind that some time periods are more expensive to travel in than others! The trip should be 5-7 days long.

When you're done, move on to step 3.

Step 3

 

  • Look for accommodation, transport, etc.

Make sure to keep all your info in one document! You need to hand that document in on teams at the end of this lesson.

When you're done hand in the document with all the information you collected so far in on Teams.

After that, watch the video you can find on the next page and then do the quiz!

Lesson 2

Step 4

- Look for fun activities to do in the area of the accommodation.

- The trip should at least include 4 activities!

 

When you're done, move on to step 5

Step 5

 

- Make a planning for the trip using the hand-out.

When you're done, move on to the next step.

 

Step 6


- All students make their own packing list using the hand-out. (In English!)

 

When you're done move on to step 7.

Step 7

Keep going, this is the last step ;)

- Make sure that the trip is complete!

- Prepare a short mini-presentation of 3-4 minutes about the trip. Use the future tense while talking about your trip.

- A PowerPoint is not necessary, but things like pictures can be helpful.

- At the end of this lesson, each group will present their trip to the class.
